Soul Food

Our Soul Food ministry began back in 2004.  During the winter of 2010-11 we delivered 44 meals each Sunday.  The need in our community rose dramatically the following winter as we prepared and delivered an average of 82 Sunday evening meals.  Other churches in our community joined the Soul Food ministry in January 2012 making it possible to serve more people each week.  We served over 90 weekly meals each year since 2013.

If your would like to help, please contact our Soul Food coordinator, Susan Finlayson.

This ministry delivers hot, home made meals to the poor in our community each week through the winter months.  Church members come together on Sunday evenings to prepare and box the meals while other church volunteers deliver it on assigned routes.  The food is fresh and delicious.  But most of all it is a way of sharing the love of Christ with the less fortunate members of our community.

We begin delivering meals each year around the last Sunday in November.  We always need cooks and delivery drivers.  Church members also provide monetary contributions that ensure we can acquire the food we need when we need it.  If you would like to make a monetary contribution, write your check to the church, but be sure to write the words, "Soul Food" in the memo line.
